ENTER AS A COMPETITOR!

Sure, you can come to the Fair as a spectator and have a GREAT time – but why not take it up a notch? Any Nevada resident can enter the Fair, whether you want to show off a jar of pickles you made yourself, or want to show off your skills of eating a pie hands-free, there’s a competition for everyone. Here’s how you can strut your stuff at the Elko County Fair!

Elko County Fair Home Arts and 4-H

HOME ARTS EXHIBITS

Ready to share your talent with the world? Home Arts is the way to do it! Here, you’ll be able to show off your fabulous work with the rest of the Fair. You will be able to register online as early as of July 15th and bring your exhibits in on the days and times listed below, or in person at the Home Arts Goicoechea building either Wednesday August 28th from 8am – 6PM, or Thursday August 29th  from 8AM – 12:30PM. The exhibitor fee is $7 and allows you to enter in several categories, whether you have an animal project or Home Arts project like sewing, photography, knitting, etc. Please be aware that the $7 exhibitor fee also pays for any other Home Arts exhibits you’d like to enter up to 10 entries. The process is simple, and you’ll be happy you decided to join after seeing how much fun it is!

LIVESTOCK SHOW AND SALE

Ready to show off all your hard work with your animal this year? Online entries will open July 1, 2024, but be sure to check out this years Elko County Fair Livestock Show and Sale Rules and Guidelines! Family Fun Competitions

 

This is where the old-time fair fun happens! There will be a classic corn hole tournament, T-Rex Race, and more! You can enter the competitions right there on the spot, so don’t be shy! Come on down and try your hand at any of the friendly competitions we have to compete in. There are new and different events happening everyday at the fair, so there’s always something for the whole family to enjoy.

Fair Parade

 

Here’s your chance to be a part of a long-time Elko tradition – the Elko County Fair Parade, organized by the Elko Lions Club. The parade steps off at 11:00 AM and winds its way through downtown Elko. If your group or business is interested in building a float, enter a performance group, or just wave and throw candy to the kids – we’d love to have you! Get your product or service in front of thousands of enthusiastic Fairgoers by exhibiting at the Elko County Fair. The Fair draws largely from Elko County, with an attractive demographic that’s eagerly ready to spend money at the Fair.

STOCK HORSE SHOW

From Nevada’s most accomplished horsemen to Elko’s youngest buckaroos – if you and your horse can get it done then show them at the Elko County Fair! Elko County Fair’s horse show is really four horse shows in one:

  • The Stockhorse Events, open to Nevada horses and horsemen of all ages
    Team events, including team branding, and team roping.

Note:  Entry requirements and deadlines in these shows are specific to each show, and are outlined in detail in the Fair’s annual Stock Horse Book. You can pick one up at the Fair office.

HORSE RACING

Think you’ve got the fastest pony in the West? Have we got the race meet for you! The Elko County Fair features six full days of Thoroughbred and Quarter Horse racing, including two of the West’s most prestigious small-track stakes races, the 74th  Annual Intermountain Quarter Horse Futurity, and the 42nd annual Elko County Quarter Horse Derby. In all, the Fair offers more than $200,000 in purse money for race competitors, with each purse at a minimum of $5000/race.

The Intermountain Quarter Horse Futurity offers added money of $20,000.00, with the Derby’s added money at $15,000.00. For information on entering the Intermountain Quarter Horse Futurity, the Elko County Quarter Horse Derby, or the Elko County Thoroughbred Derby please download the current race nomination form on the competitors page.

All other races, including the Elko/Ely Thoroughbred Allowance can be entered at the Fairgrounds’ Racing Office on the dates and times listed on the competitors page with the current year Racing Condition book.
