SCHOLARSHIPS

Walter Winchell Memorial Scholarship honors the legacy of Walter Winchell, a lifelong Elko County resident, rancher, and devoted supporter of the Elko County Fair. Walter served on the Fair Board for 45 years, including 20 years as Chairman, and was a passionate advocate for the Livestock Show and Sale.

This scholarship supports college-bound students who have participated in the Elko County Fair Livestock Show. Awards of up to $1,000 may be granted, with the number and amount determined by the Winchell Family. Applications are due April 1, 2026.
